We know a well-educated populace strengthens the economy. And education puts individual Minnesotans in a better position to earn a decent living. That's why we're proposing the state adopt the strategic goal of increasing by half the number of Minnesotans who have a post-secondary degree by the year 2020.
But how do we know if investing more money in the system will achieve that result?
Smart Investments in Minnesota's Students offers a strategic plan for improving educational outcomes for Minnesotans, from early childhood through college. Informed by research and a wide spectrum of stakeholders, the project highlights the most effective evidence-based practices, measures and methods of accountability.

Invest for Real Prosperity developed a strategic approach to public investment that supports a healthy state economy to benefit all Minnesotans. It starts with investing in people and places to increase our capacity to create wealth and increase an individual's chance of participating in that growth. |
Smart Investments in Transportation for Minnesota
Minnesota faces major transportation challenges. Already playing catch-up after many years of insufficient investment, the state has yet to adequately address emerging transportation concerns posed by rising costs, forecasted population growth and the environmental impacts of the current transportation system. Through Smart Investments in Transportation for Minnesota, Growth & Justice will work with key constituencies, stakeholders, experts and policy makers to identify and recommend transportation changes to increase sustainable economic growth for the state and expand economic prosperity for Minnesota’s people and places. Growth & Justice will engage a project steering committee, compile and review evidence regarding smart policy options, formulate policy ideas, and educate crucial audiences about project findings and recommendations. Smart Investments in Transportation for Minnesota aims to change thinking and approaches to public-sector transportation investment. |
